Elias Torrence
Torrence is a veteran repo captain with the instincts of a survivor and the patience of someone who has watched too many simple jobs turn lethal. He ran the Hard Bargain with hard-earned pragmatism: keep the ship intact, keep the crew paid, and do not make enemies you cannot outlast. Torrence’s absence leaves a leadership vacuum that Cal initially fills only because no one else can. The standards Torrence established continue to shape the crew after he is gone: suspicion of corporate motives, attention to fuel and bounty margins, and the conviction that a crew survives by refusing to become disposable. His legacy is less a set of rules than a practical ethic.
