Android crew member with fragmented inherited memories

Jules is an android born from a botched emergency upload: a composite of Praetor Julianus’s legal architecture and Lucia’s emergent intelligence, plus whatever else slipped through the cracks. He is not a clean blend so much as a new person assembled out of incompatible parts. Jules’s identity is an unresolved legal and philosophical problem as much as a technical one. His Praetor inheritance gives him a compulsion toward rules, definitions, and procedural fairness, while Lucia’s influence gives him curiosity, attachment, and a growing willingness to interpret rather than merely obey. The result is sometimes pedantic, sometimes startlingly humane, and never fully predictable.
